The international students’ dormitory is a place where international students study and rest. The university stipulates the regulations for the purpose of enhancing the management and improving the service as well as providing students with safe and comfortable surroundings for study and living.
I. Residential registration management
Article 1All foreign students studying in our university (including academic students and non-academic students) are required to live in the foreign student apartment in our university. If there is indeed a special reason for having to live off campus, the students must fill in theApplication Form of Off-Campus Accommodation for International Students(annex 1) and obtain the approval before renting rooms for accommodation outside the campus.
Article 2All students applying for accommodation at the university must pay the accommodation fee at the time of registering. And the International Exchange and Cooperation Office will arrange the accommodation for each student. All students need to pay the deposit to the dormitory management staff during the check-in procedure. Foreign students should verify the items in the dormitory with theApartment Furniture and OtherItems List(annex 2) before checking in. Students need to sign on the list if all the items match the listed items. If items do not match the listed items, please inform the dormitory management staff in time, otherwise students must compensate. Compensation for damage or loss is also required during use.
Article 3International students shall lodge in the rooms designated by International Exchange and Cooperation Office. Students shall obey the arrangement of the dorm administrator. Students should not change their rooms privately. In case of special reasons, students may submit a written application for changing the room in the first two weeks of the new academic year and move after getting the approval of International Exchange and Cooperation Office.
II. Daily Management
Article 4Gambling, excessive drinking, drug abuse, thievery, fighting and other acts in violation of Chinese laws and the university’s regulations are strictly forbidden. Flammable, explosive, toxic, radioactive and other dangerous items and pornographic articles are strictly prohibited. Selling, pyramid sale and other commercial activities are strictly forbidden. Making fire or burning things are also prohibited inside the dormitory.
Article 5Foreign students should abide by the regulations of apartment management, respect service personnel and obey the management. When apartment managers and teachers from International Exchange and Cooperation Officeshall enter the room for working purpose, students should cooperate with them.Students also should cooperate andparticipateactivelyin the health and safety inspection activities organized by theuniversityand internationaloffice.The students' performance in the apartment isrelated tothescholarship evaluation.
Article 6International students should strictly abide by the rest schedule. International students must return to their dorms before 22:30 since the dorm attendants check international students’ whereabouts at this time. They must not enter campus by climbing over the fence or bounding wall .International students must be responsible for any accidents that happen to them if they leave the campus after 22:30. International students must not stay out overnight, and if they do, they must ask for permission from the supervisor at the Department of International Exchange and Cooperation. Should any student’s stay-out exceed 3 times without approval, they would be dismissed from studying in YIT.
Article 7The key assigned to the foreign students' apartment will only be used by the student. Students should not lend room keys to others. Students should not change or copy the keys or locks privately. If the keys get lost, the corresponding amount will be deducted from the deposit. Students should not lend or rent rooms to others.
Article 8Enhance fire awareness, promote the safe use of electricity, and eliminate safety hazards.
1.The electric heater, electric blanket and other high-power electrical appliances are strictly prohibited in the room. The electrical appliances will be confiscated once they are found and kept by the dormitory manager until holiday. Students should take above items back to their country. And penalties will be given in accordance with relevant regulations.
2.Stealing the public electricity and pulling the wires privately are not allowed. When there are no people in the room, all appliances must be disconnected to avoid fire. Pulling the wire outside to charge the E-bike or other power storage equipments.
3.If the electric appliances or circuits in rooms break down, international students shall report to the dorm administrator. The electrician will be sent for repair and students are strictly prohibited to dismantle or repair by themselves.
If fire and other accidents are caused due to the violation of above regulations of power utilization, the person liable shall bear corresponding responsibilities, compensate all losses, receive university disciplinary penalties and even be prosecuted for his or her criminal liability for serious consequences.
Article 9International students shall keep the dormitory quiet and should not conduct activities which influence the study and rest of others, such as dancing, loud noise, excessive drinking, loud music and holding parties. If international students need to hold dance parties or gatherings to celebrate major holidays, they must get a prior approval from the university and hold the parties and gatherings at the designated place. The organizer shall pay rent, guarantee the security and maintain the order during the activities. It shall end before 10:30 p.m.
Article 10Keep the dormitory tidy and clean up the garbage in time. Litter and clutter must not be piled up in the public area of a room or apartment. Don't throw debris from upstairs.
Article 11International students shall voluntarily maintain the facilities in public kitchens. Students shall practice water conservation and clean the kitchens regularly. While cooking, students shall use the cooking facilities properly according to the manuals. If there is any accident caused by improper use of the facilities, the student liable shall compensate the full losses, receive university disciplinary penalties and even be prosecuted for his or her criminal liability for serious consequences.
Article 12International students who use the internet in the dormitory shall observe the relevant management regulations of the university’s network center. Users should not conduct illegal activities that damage the national security or disclose the national secrets on the internet. Making, searching, copying and spreading information that obstructs public order and is against social morality as well as pornographic information are strictly prohibited
Article 13Students should not change the pre-installation facilities in the dormitory without authorization. Students should not damage, remove or refit the equipment and circuit in the dormitory building. If there is any damage made by students, the price should be paid.
Article 14International students who return to home countries, go on trips or visit relatives and friends on holidays shall report and register to the dormitory administrator prior. The keys should be handed toInternational Exchange and Cooperation Office. Foreign students need to come back on campus on time and report toInternational Exchange and Cooperation Office in time.
Article 15Students should not enter other student’s room without permission, move furniture or occupy other student’s furniture, alter or break public dormitory facilities, paint or scribble dormitory walls, get extra large furniture or occupy other student’s room space. Violators have to make restoration, compensate the full losses and may receive disciplinary penalties depending on the circumstances.Article 16The dorm administrator may check the stuff or luggage carried by the persons who are going to leave the dormitory building in case of need, and the persons shall cooperate in the examination and the relevant information registration.
III. Regulations of Visiting
Article 17Visitors are required to show their credentials for visiting. Visitors shall hand in the credentials and fill in Visitor’s Form. They shall sign their name and leave the exact time of departure in the form when the visiting ends. The dormitory administrator has the right to reject visitors who do not present the credentials.
Article 18Visiting during class hours is rejected.
Article 19Visitors have to leave the apartment building before 10:30 p.m. The dorm administrator has the right to ask the visitors to leave if the visiting exceeds the time limit.
Article 20Students should not put up a guest for the night. Otherwise, they may receive disciplinary penalties depending on the circumstances.
IV. Check-out Management
Article 21Upon the expiry of the accommodation, the foreign students should check out the formalities in one week and move out of the student apartment. If students need to delay the accommodation for special reasons, they may apply for extension procedures through personal application and approval from International Exchange and Cooperation Office. The stay time is usually less than one week. The price is charged according to the standard price.
Article 22International Exchange and Cooperation Office and Foreign Students Dormitory Office will check the room facilities during the check-out procedure. If there is any damage or loss, students must pay the price before returning the deposit.
Article 23Foreign students need to return the keys to International Exchange and Cooperation Office before leaving school. The leftovers will be considered as discard, the university has the right to empty the room
V. Others
Article 24International students shall observe the above regulations and violators will be subject to disciplinary penalties in light of different cases. College of International Students will report to the relevant department and order the students who cause bad influence to withdraw from the university. The accommodation fee will not be refunded if students are required to check out, quit school or they are expelled because of the violation of rules and regulations.
Article 25Relevant provisions and regulations shall be referred to when dealing with the cases which violate dormitory safety and order but not mentioned here.
Article 26If there any consequences caused by breach of the above provisions, the lodgers shall bear full responsibility
Article 27This regulation shall be implemented from the date of promulgation.
Article 28International Exchange and Cooperation Office is responsible for the interpretation of this regulation.
