I. Enhancing you Awareness of Self-protection

1. Do not get intoxicated and drunken-driving; come back to your dorm by bus or other public traffic if you get intoxicated outside the campus.

2、Go and see the doctor if you do not feel well. Please get information about how to see a doctor from your relatives, friends, or teachers of our university. Do not delay to see a doctor until it is too late.

3. Keep a card of contact person with you in case you need it. The contact person can be your guardian inChina, your teachers, friends, or your relatives in Yancheng.

4. When you go on a travel by public traffic, or eating outside, or booking into a hotel, or go shopping, it is reminded that you go to a registered business office and ask for the invoice after the transaction.

5. You must obey the traffic rules ant take care of your own safety.

6. Refrain from going outside at night or alone when you are on a travel.

7. You must guard against thefts and pickpockets in a train station or a bus stop, special care should be taken of your money and goods in the back pockets of your trousers, or in your backpack. It is better to carry your backpack in your front and pay attention to it.

8.When you ride a bicycle, do not put your schoolbag in the back basket or in the spring clamp at the back of your bicycle in case of theft.

9. Do not leave about your school bag, clothes, cell phone, wallet, etc when you are in the classroom, the dining hall, or sports ground or gym. Bring them with you or leave them for others to take care of when you leave these places.

10. Do not put in your code numbers at ATM when someone is near you. When ATM gets out of order, do not go away and call the bank at once.

II. Tips for Preventing Deception

1. Do not lend your passport, student ID card, campus card to others in case of deception in your name.

2. Do not disclose your personal data such as address, phone number, cell phone number, school address in case of illegal use by others.

3. Be careful of the familiar people; do not lend money to them.

Be cautious of the information from the internet or from your cell phone. Guard against internet deception or phone deception in the case of internet shopping.

5. When in doubt, ask teachers for help or report to Security Department. Do not act in a rash manner.
