Chapter I General Provisions
Article 1 In order to standardize the student status management of undergraduates studying in China (hereinafter referred to as "undergraduates studying abroad"), protect the learning rights and interests of undergraduates studying in China, and maintain the education and teaching order of overseas students, These regulations are formulated in accordance with relevant documents such as Regulations on The Administration of Students in Ordinary Institutions of Higher Learning (Decree No. 41 of the Ministry of Education), Regulations on the Administration of Enrollment and Cultivation of International Students in Universities (Decree No. 42 of the Ministry of Education, The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Public Security) and the actual situation of the university.
The school of International Education (HEREINAFTER referred to as "THE Institute of International Education") is in charge of the management of the student status, with the cooperation of the Academic Affairs Office.
Chapter II Length of Schooling and Length of Study
Article 3 The standard length of undergraduate education is 4 years (5 years for architecture).
Article 4 On the basis of the standard schooling system, students are allowed to graduate one year in advance or complete their schooling in stages, but the longest schooling period (including suspension and retention of admission qualification) shall not exceed 6 years (7 years for architecture major), and the transfer of major shall not exceed 3 years.
Chapter III Admission and Registration
Article 5 The admitted students should come to the university to register within the specified time with their ordinary passport, study visa, Visa Application Form for Study in China (JW201 or JW202 form), admission notice, Physical Examination Record for Foreigners and original application materials. Self-funded international students are required to provide proof of payment for tuition, accommodation, teaching materials and insurance.
Article 6 The admission qualification of new students studying abroad shall be cancelled if they have any of the following circumstances:
(1) Students who fail to register two weeks late without the approval of the university;
(2) failing to bring original certificates and application materials as required when reporting for duty;
(3) obtaining admission qualification by fraud;
(4) Students who fail to pay tuition fees and other related fees within two months after registration;
(5) those who fail to pass the physical examination;
(6) Other circumstances that are not suitable for admission.
Article 7 Registration
(1) New international students shall be registered online by THE Institute of International Education on the Platform of International Student Status and Academic Record management on the Higher Education Student Information Network of the Ministry of Education and the Education Department of Jiangsu Province in accordance with the relevant regulations of the Ministry of Education and the Education Department of Jiangsu Province, and the Office of Academic Affairs shall register online on the China Higher Education Student Information Network.
International students who have obtained student status should pay tuition fees (including credit tuition and registration fee) according to the school calendar each semester, and then go through registration procedures with their student ID card and passport. Those who fail to register as scheduled for some reason shall go through the formalities of deferment of registration or leave of absence and obtain approval. Without leave or leave is not approved, it will be treated as truancy. Those who fail to register for two weeks and fail to pay the tuition within two months will be regarded as automatic withdrawal.
Article 8 International students can apply for residence permit only after completing the registration formalities.
Chapter IV Attendance and Leave
Article 9 All international students are required to take attendance check. Attendance attendance of classes, internships and other activities stipulated in the training program and activities required by the school (college) are within the scope of attendance attendance. The teaching or activity organizers are responsible for attendance attendance, with the assistance of the international student counselors.
Article 10 If the international student is unable to attend class for some reason, he/she must go through the leave formalities in advance, provide the corresponding leave certificate, and inform the relevant teacher of the approved leave application. Leave after the event is invalid except for emergencies.
Article 11 The leave period for international students is less than one day, which shall be approved by the international student counselor and the International Education Department. The leave period is 2-7 days, which shall be approved by the leader in charge of student work of THE Institute of International Education, and the counselor shall report to the leader in charge of student work of the training unit for the record. If the leave period is more than 7 days, it shall be approved by the president of THE Institute of International Education, and the counselor shall report to the leader in charge of international student teaching of the training unit for the record. Students who ask for leave more than 7 weeks in one semester must apply for suspension.
Article 12 Absence without leave or permission shall be regarded as truancy. Those who fail to participate in the teaching activities prescribed by the school for 2 consecutive weeks without leave or leave will be regarded as automatic withdrawal.
Chapter v Course assessment and record of grades
Article 13 All the courses taken by international students must be assessed. The assessment can be conducted in closed book, open book, written test, oral test and other forms. The grades of courses mainly based on classroom teaching are made up of ordinary and final exams in a certain proportion according to the provisions of the course syllabus. Daily achievements (including mid-term exam results and experimental results) account for 70% of the total course score. The final exam score accounts for 30% of the total grade of the course. The total grade of the applied course will be treated by the Academic Affairs Office at the end of the semester. If the final exam score is lower than 35, the final grade will not be calculated according to this ratio and will be regarded as unapplied courses. The total proportion of the above sub-grades shall be 100%.
Article 15 Students who fail the course assessment can take a make-up examination at the beginning of the next semester (in principle, it should be arranged in the first 2 weeks). After passing the make-up examination, the course score will be recorded as 60 or pass and marked as the make-up examination score on the transcript. Those who fail the practical teaching link do not arrange make-up examination.
Article 16 Those who fail to attend the examination without any reason will be regarded as absent from the examination, and their course results will be counted as zero points and counted as grade point of credit.
Article 17 For those who miss the exam or cheat in the exam, the course score will be zero and the words "miss the exam" or "cheat" will be marked. Those who miss the exam or cheat in the exam are not allowed to take the make-up exam.
Article 18 There are two ways to record course scores: hundred-mark system and five-level system. The five levels are excellent, good, medium, pass and fail.
Article 19 International students who do not get the test results or have any questions about their scores shall, within one week after the announcement of the test results or within one week after the beginning of the next semester, submit a written application for score check to the Institute of International Education. Applications that exceed the prescribed time limit will not be accepted. Students are not allowed to touch the test papers themselves.
Article 20 If it is confirmed that the examination papers are not approved or added by the teachers, or that there are errors in grading, and the scores need to be corrected, the teachers, the teaching secretary and the leaders in charge of teaching for international students shall confirm and sign their names and seal with the official seal of the institute, and then report to the Institute for revising the scores.
Chapter VI delay and retake
Article 21 students due to illness or other reasons can not on time to participate in the inspection (not including the make-up examination), by oneself or entrust others to submit an application for a grace, the Abbey of the test and the attached documents (attached hospital certificate due to illness, because things with related proof), check by the counselor, in charge of the teaching work of school leadership approval, college in the teaching management system completes the course if the registration, And inform the course teacher. Those who fail to apply for deferment or fail to take the examination on time without approval will be treated as absent from the examination. Practical teaching link does not set delay examination.
Chapter VII credit recognition, exemption and exemption
Article 22 International students who have taken the same courses in other universities (including overseas ones) can apply for credit recognition. The specific measures are as follows:
(1) International students should submit application form, transcript and course outline;
(2) The school where the major or teaching course is located shall organize experts to conduct course recognition and credit recognition. If the university (including overseas) and its disciplines are higher in international ranking than the corresponding disciplines of OUR university and the courses are of high similarity, the courses and corresponding credits can be directly recognized. If the ranking of the courses taken by the university (including overseas) is lower than that of OUR university or the subject of our university, the students must pass the written test, interview and other methods to evaluate, and the courses and corresponding credits can be recognized.
Article 23 International students who have completed credits to meet the requirements of the training plan and whose GPA is above 3.0 can apply for exemption from the course if they have mastered the content of a certain course through self-study or other means. Procedures for international students to apply for exemption:
(1) International students should fill in the Application Form of Course Exemption Examination in the last week of the semester before the commencement of the course and submit it to THE Institute of International Education for approval;
(2) The school prepares the exemption examination questions, arranges the oral and written exams within two weeks after the beginning of the semester, and promptly sends the confirmed results to the Institute in written form;
(3) Students with a score of 75 or above in the exemption examination can be granted exemption and obtain credits, and the results will be truthfully recorded by the Institute of International Education.
Article 24 If the class time of a retaken course conflicts with that of other courses being studied, the retaken course may be exempted from attendance or attended occasionally.
Article 25 International students who apply for exemption should submit a written application, which shall be approved by the course teacher and approved by the Institute of International Education, and the result shall be notified to the course teacher. The exemption procedure should be handled within 1 week after the completion of the registration.
Article 26 International students are exempt from attending the course and must complete the normal homework and other assessment procedures as required by the course teacher.
Chapter VIII Transfer and Major Transfer
Article 27 The university does not accept transfer students in principle. Those who need to be transferred to our school under special circumstances must be in good health, have good conduct, have excellent academic performance and have no bad record. After being recommended by our school and approved by the Institute of International Education.
Article 28 New students studying abroad may apply individually before registering their academic status, and the Department of International Education of THE Chinese Academy of Education will check their learning background. Those who meet the requirements of the planned major transfer may agree to transfer their major.
Article 29 International students who have already registered can apply for a new major by referring to the relevant measures of Changing majors for undergraduates of Yancheng Institute of Technology.
Chapter IX Suspension and Resumption of Schooling
Article 30 International students who suspend their studies for 7 weeks or more must go through the suspension procedure. Suspension of schooling includes suspension of schooling due to illness and other reasons.
Article 31 The resumption of international students shall be handled according to the following regulations:
(1) Students should fill in the application form for resuming study and go through the procedures for resuming study one month before the suspension period expires. The students who leave school due to illness shall be reexamined and qualified by the designated hospital. Those who fail to resume school within the prescribed time limit will be regarded as automatic withdrawal.
(2) Resuming students are generally enrolled in the corresponding grade of their original major when suspension is approved. If there is no original major in the corresponding grade, students can be enrolled in similar major according to the situation. Students are not allowed to start classes until they have completed the resumption procedures.
Chapter X Graduation Project (Thesis)
Article 32 Qualifications for graduation project (thesis). International students who participate in the graduation project (thesis) should, in principle, complete all the courses and practical projects specified in the teaching plan (except for the graduation project) and obtain corresponding credits. At the end of the seventh semester, students who have failed 6 or more courses (or 18 credits) are not allowed to participate in the graduation project (thesis) or graduation practice. In the premise of not exceeding the learning period, students can apply for extension of learning time. During the extension period, students who are recognized as qualified can participate in the graduation project of the next grade. Those who do not go through the procedures of extension of learning time will be completed or completed according to regulations.
