With over 30 years of history, the School of Art & Design at Yancheng Institute of Technology is one of the earliest institutions in Jiangsu Province to offer design programs. The school currently offers four undergraduate programs: Environmental Design (with concentrations in Interior Design and Landscape Design), Visual Communication Design, Fashion Design, and Product Design, as well as one master's degree program in Design. Currently, there are 1,190 full-time undergraduate students enrolled.
The school has earned numerous distinctions, including the "National First-Class Undergraduate Program in Environmental Design," "National First-Class Course in Service Design," and several provincial-level honors.
Our faculty consists of 56 full-time teachers, including 6 professors, 23 associate professors, 12 Ph.D. holders, and 25 teachers with overseas study experience. Many faculty members are recipients of prestigious provincial talent programs and have secured over 20 national and provincial-level research projects.
Our state-of-the-art facilities include the 13,000-square-meter "Runmei Building," featuring professional exhibition halls, lecture halls, libraries, and professor/doctoral studios. The school implements an innovative "112" curriculum reform and maintains strong industry-education integration through partnerships with government agencies and enterprises.
The school excels in both teaching and creative achievements. Our students have won numerous prestigious awards, including the Red Dot Design Award, iF Design Award, Purple Mountain Cultural and Creative Award, and various national competitions. Our faculty members have had eight artworks selected for national exhibitions, earning gold medals and other honors. The school is recognized as a provincial base for watercolor painting creation and research.
Our graduates maintain an employment rate above 90% and are highly regarded in the industry. Many graduates work in the Yangtze River Delta region and major cities like Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, contributing significantly to leading companies such as Heilan Home, Hongdou, and Gold Mantis. In recent years, nearly 100 graduates have been admitted to prestigious graduate programs at institutions like Southeast University, China Academy of Art, and Lund University in Sweden.
