The School of Textile and Fashion at Yancheng Institute of Technology, established in 1990, offers three undergraduate programs in Textile Engineering, Light Chemical Engineering, and Fashion Design and Engineering, one experimental center, and two master's degree programs in Nanoscience and Engineering (Nanostructure and Functional Textile Design) and Materials and Chemical Engineering (Textile Engineering). The Textile Engineering program is recognized as a National First-class Undergraduate Program Construction Site.
The school has built a faculty team with high teaching standards, strong research capabilities, and innovative awareness. It currently has over 60 faculty members, including 2 provincial undergraduate industrial professors and 2 provincial industrial professors (graduate supervisor category). Among the full-time faculty, 60% hold senior professional titles, 70% hold doctoral degrees, 40% are master's supervisors, and 30% have overseas study experience. The school has high-level talents including key teachers, academic leaders, and outstanding teaching teams under the Jiangsu Higher Education "Blue and Green Project," Jiangsu Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Doctors, Jiangsu Provincial Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talent "Technical Vice Presidents," and Jiangsu Provincial Youth Science and Technology Support Program. It maintains platforms such as Jiangsu Provincial Military-Civil Integration Innovation, Textile CMA Testing, and Graduate Workstations, as well as centers for Jiangsu Provincial Textile Machinery Innovation Public Technical Service and Eco-textile and Clothing Engineering Technology Research. The school currently has over 1,100 full-time undergraduate students and more than 40 graduate students.
The school focuses on teaching as its core mission, actively promoting both teaching capability and quality improvement. It has obtained 3 provincial-level and 10 university-level first-class courses. Ten textbooks have been published, including 2 provincial key textbooks. The school has been approved for 1 Jiangsu Provincial Education Science "14th Five-Year Plan" project, 1 Jiangsu Higher Education Association teaching reform project, 7 Ministry of Education industry-education collaborative projects, 1 Ministry of Education supply-demand matching employment education project, 4 China Textile Industry Federation higher education teaching reform projects, and over 50 university-level education teaching reform projects.
The School has won 1 second prize in the Provincial Young Teachers Teaching Competition for Higher Education Institutions, 1 first prize, 2 second prizes and 1 third prize in the Provincial Micro-course Competition, 1 Provincial Ideological and Political Education Construction Case Study, 1 second prize in the National Textile Professional Teaching Plan Competition. Also received second and third prizes respectively in national competitions including Future Designer · National Art Design Teachers Teaching Innovation Competition, China Good Ideas National Digital Creative Teaching Skills Competition, and Milan Design Week University Design Faculty and Student Exhibition (Teacher Category), plus 15 provincial awards. The college received 32 Teaching Achievement Awards from China National Textile and Apparel Council and 2 University Teaching Achievement Awards.
Led by discipline construction, the school fully drives the coordinated development of scientific research innovation and local service. It has been approved for 10 national-level projects including National Key R&D Programs (sub-projects) and National Natural Science Foundation projects, and over 50 provincial-level projects including Provincial Natural Science Foundation projects. The school has undertaken over 200 horizontal cooperation projects with total funding exceeding 50 million yuan. More than 350 invention patents have been applied for, with over 150 authorized and over 120 transferred. Over 150 papers have been published in major indexed journals, including research findings published in the top international materials science journal Advanced Materials.
The school has received numerous awards, including one Second Prize of Ministry of Education Natural Science Award, one Provincial Science and Technology Second Prize, one China Textile Industry Federation Science and Technology Second Prize, one Second Prize and one Third Prize of China General Chamber of Commerce Science and Technology Awards, two Third Prizes of Provincial Light Industry Science and Technology Innovation Awards, three Municipal Science and Technology Progress Awards, and over 10 Municipal Natural Science Outstanding Academic Achievement Awards.

They have won 10 national awards and over 50 provincial awards in various competitions listed in the China Association of Higher Education's "University Competition Assessment Ranking," including Future Designer National Digital Art Design Competition, Milan Design Week University Design Exhibition, and National College Students Digital Media Technology and Innovation Competition. Students have also won multiple awards in various discipline competitions organized by the China Textile and Apparel Education Society, such as China University Textile Design Competition, National College Students Yarn Design Competition, National College Students Green Dyeing and Finishing Technology Innovation Competition, Oriental Design Award, and Purple Mountain Award Cultural Creative Design Competition. Over 30 student practical innovation training projects are conducted annually.
Students have been admitted to master's programs at universities such as Dalian University of Technology, Donghua University, Soochow University, and Jiangnan University, with a graduate school admission rate of around 30%. The year-end employment rate exceeds 96%, with graduates mainly working in the textile and clothing industry in the Yangtze River Delta region and economically developed southeastern coastal areas. Their solid work ethic, strong professional competence, and excellent professional qualities have earned them welcome and praise from employers.
