Founded in 1958, Yancheng Institute of Technology（YCIT) is a full-time public university in Jiangsu province. It has two campuses, covering an area of 152 hectares, situated in Yancheng city, an open coastal city renowned as “oriental wetland inhabited by red-crowned cranes and David deer”.

YCIT follows the motto of “Studious, Inquiring, Virtuous, Practical” and adheres to the values of pursuing “science, innovation, responsibility and excellence”. Our developing strategy is to “build the university with quality, strengthen the university by talents, revitalize the university through scientific research, renown the university by disciplines and shape the university by culture”. YCIT focuses on cultivating high-quality application-oriented senior talents for building materials industry and continuously improving the scientific research and technological services to adapt to local economic and social development. We have multidisciplinary majors in engineering, business and management, humanities and social sciences, agriculture and art.

YCIT offers 76 undergraduate programs in the 18 faculties and has an enrollment of 23,000 plus full-time undergraduates, 10 master degree programs with about 700 postgraduates from 30 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country. There are 1600 plus staff with 1300 faculty members, among whom, more than 700 are full and associate professors, 224 postgraduate supervisors, 5 distinguished experts, 28 distinguished professors, 180 part-time professors from prestigious universities at home and board, 200 plus are recipients of special allowance from the State Council, provincial and municipal government, and candidates for the Six Talent Peak, provincial 333 Project and Blue Project, and 18 are eligible for Provincial Famous Teachers and Young Experts with Outstanding Contributions to Jiangsu province and Yancheng city.

The three disciplines of Engineering Science, Materials Science, and Chemistry are among the top 1% of ESI rankings in the world, the comprehensive ESI ranking 263rd among universities in China. YCIT has founded 8 Industry Technological Research Institutes and 63 field research institutes (centers), 6 provincial key disciplines, 1 provincial “2011 Collaborative Innovation Center”, 9 Provincial Key Laboratories and 8 Provincial Engineering Research Centers, 1 National University Science and Technology Park, 1 National Model Institution for Technology Transfer.

YCIT has partnerships with more than 30 universities from the United States, Canada, Britain, Germany, Australia, Poland, Sweden, Japan, Korea, Russia, Ukraine, Lithuania, Malaysia and Taiwan China and so on, conducting credits recognition and joint master degree programs, and also running three Sino-foreign cooperative education programs approved by the Ministry of Education with the University of Greenwich and the University of Detroit Mercy.
