School of Electrical Engineering is a secondary school with a long history. Its predecessor, Department of Electrical Engineering, was founded in 1988. At present, the college consists of 4 departments, 1 course group, 2 experimental centers and 1 institute: Department of Electrical Engineering and Automation, Department of Automation, Department of Building Electrical and Intelligent Engineering, Department of New Energy Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Electronic Course Group. Electrical and Electronic Experimental Center, Electrical and New Energy Comprehensive experimental teaching center and Electrical and Information Technology Research Institute. It has four u ndergraduate majors: Electrical Engineering and Automation, Automation, Building Electrical and Intelligence, and New Energy Science and Engineering. The college has made a series of achievements in talent training: it has cooperated with the University of Greenwich to hold the international cooperation class of Electrical Engineering and Automation; The major of Electrical Engineering and Automation has been approved as a key major in Jiangsu Province. Automation was approved as the pilot major of Jiangsu Outstanding Engineer (software) Education and Training Program; Electrical and Electronic experimental Center and Electric and New Energy Comprehensive experimental Teaching Center were approved as experimental teaching demonstration center of Jiangsu Province.
The college has a strong teaching force and perfect teaching conditions. Currently, there are 72 teaching and research staff, including 7 professors, 18 associate professors, 5 master supervisors, 17 doctoral students, 1 doctoral candidate, 50 master students and 8 part-time professors. There are nearly 2000 full-time undergraduates. There are 48 professional laboratories, covering an area of 4,800 m2, with fixed assets of more than 20 million yuan.
