The Textile and Garment Institute was founded in 1990. There are 3 undergraduate programs (6 majors) in textile Engineering, Lightweight chemical Engineering, Fashion Design and Engineering, and an experimental center. Now there are 52 faculty and staff members, including 3 professors, 23 associate professors, 50 teachers with master degree or above, including 22 doctors and 4 doctoral candidates, and 1084 full-time undergraduates.

The college aims to cultivate high-level application-oriented talents with solid basic knowledge, strong practical ability, high comprehensive quality and good innovative spirit. The college insists on teaching as the center, cultivating students' innovative consciousness and practical ability. The standardized management of teaching has been strengthened and the quality of teaching has been continuously improved. In the past three years, the college has won one second prize and three third prizes of education and Teaching achievements awarded by China Textile And Apparel Industry Association, undertaken more than ten provincial and university education reform projects, and published more than 40 teaching and research papers. Nearly three years college once won the first prize in the school teaching block, a third prize, nine papers as the first author, undergraduate students attend course contests HuoJiangShu 25 times at or above the provincial level, the student to obtain the number of vocational qualification certificate 432 person-time, students preside over 40 college students practice innovation training projects, including national level 5, 12 at the provincial level.
